Set in the wide valley of the Yukon River, Whitehorse is the capital of the Yukon and by far its largest community. Close to 70 percent of the total Yukon population lives in the community of Whitehorse; this includes the City of Whitehorse, Mount Lorne, Ibex Valley, Marsh Lake and surrounding areas. The city lies within the shared traditional territory of the Ta'an Kwach'an Council (TKC) and the Kwanlin Dun First Nation (KDFN).Whitehorse boasts a vibrant, dynamic, multicultural atmosphere. There are many nearby provincial parks, beautiful mountain scenery and wild life as well as recreational opportunities unique to the Yukon. These activities include dog sledding, cross country and downhill skiing, snowshoeing, ice fishing in the winter as well as hiking with pack dogs, camping, canoeing/ kayaking, area/glacier tours, trophy salmon fishing, gold panning , wilderness tours, historic sites and yearly festivals. Within the City there is the Recreational Games Centre which contains under one roof swimming pools, running tracks, soccer field and ice surfaces. This multi million dollar complex was completed in 2007 for the Canada Games.

Position Overview
To provide physician services in the community of Whitehorse and surrounding areas.

You must hold certification (CCFP) from the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) and be eligible for a license to practice family medicine in Yukon and hospital privileges.
